Our mornings are spent focused on literacy and numeracy. Students work in small guided reading groups with teachers and have time to read to self, a partner and/or engage in some literacy centres. Students participate in writing and word work lessons and have time to practice their writing skills.
Our math focus right now is on developing addition strategies. Students are working with different teachers during this time. Ask your child what they did in math today.
During inquiry time the Coast group learned about the food web for the animal they are studying and did some guided drawings of their animals. The Arctic group as part of learning about human geography, explored different types of recreation that people enjoy in the Arctic.
