We have finished swimming as a pod. Certificates or information about how your child did in their lessons is coming soon.
No school next Thursday or Friday.

Today our non-swimmers worked on reading to self and reading to someone while some kids worked with a teacher in their guided reading group. We have been working on decoding strategies/reading strategies. We will start moving into strategies for comprehension.
Ask your child about the math game kids played (non-swimmers).
Once the swimmers were back, we all worked on our writing: retelling the story Elmer. We are using 4 pictures labelled "first, next, then, finally" to retell the story in 4 parts. Our focus was working on using capital letters in the right spot and writing in complete sentences.
Peace Group B Inquiry: Kids have finished with their current group and will move onto a new group this coming week. We finished learning about animals and plants, below is a picture of our Arctic Biome: learning about food chains and food webs. Stay tuned as all Grade 1 and 2 groups will be posting an inquiry learning intention into powerschool.
